“The idea came from a desire to transcend”
Mr. Theodoro, as they call him at the project’s office, was the one who brought up to his family the idea to merge several purposes and services in one single Complex: “Pacific Center”
This 90-year-old man, with 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, has devoted his life to work. A founder of a great retail company and developer of many construction works throughout the continent, felt there was something very important missing in his life, and it was the consolidation a project that would allow him to transcend beyond the strictly commercial. That is how he came to the idea of building a site that would be service oriented to others, giving privilege to the human being, and that would become a symbol of gratitude with a country that so kindly welcomed him and his family.
This dream came to be shortly after, giving birth to The Panama Clinic, one of Latin America’s most modern hospitals, located in the heart of Panama City, and the center of the American Continent. But in order to make this great hospital complex more functional, it was decided that it would provide a diversity of complementary services, such as hotel, restaurants, retail stores, doctors’ offices, business offices, among others, in order to provide a comprehensive service to all users, visitors, and people who have been key partners to the success of such beautiful project.
For a man with the determination and strength of Mr. Theodoro, this will be his greatest work; it will reflect the true meaning of life, which is to transcend. It will be the greatest legacy for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will have to carry on with it.
“Upon achieving this project, that will be an icon for our city, I will be able to say I have served God, society, and my family!”, he states, with the assurance of a wise man, whom at his 90 years of age, is the first one to arrive, and the last one to leave the site.
