Labor and Birthing Room

At The Panama Clinic we offer a large Labor and Birthing room, completely furnished, and fully equipped with state of the art technology, located in the 10th floor of the Hospital Tower, meeting all safety conditions needed for mother and newborn.

Our rooms are designed according to modern concepts of Labor, birthing, and recovery rooms, so the mother-to-be can give birth without having to be transferred into another room, thus favoring a comfortable labor, and early bonding between mother and child.

These rooms are suited with all technical and assisting requirements to provide first care to the baby at the moment of birth.

We distinguish ourselves for being the first Labor and Birthing Room in Panama to deliver Hydrotherapy Bathtubs, to provide a more comfortable and relax labor stimulation, assisted by a specialized trained team.

Birth Certificate

At The Panama Clinic, and thinking about parents’ convenience, we feature our Birth Certificate issuance service for your baby during your hospital stay.  This certificate is easily issued via internet, through the Birth Certificate System of the Electoral Registration Department.

Once the process is completed, parents will receive a birth certificate with their child’s appointed national identification (Cedula) number.

They just need to submit:

  • heir Cedula if they are both Panamanian.  In the case of foreigners: Original Passport, Migrant Card, or Consular Certificate from both.
  • Two Panamanian witnesses of legal age with no kinship with parents

Important Notice:  If your child is not registered within one year of birthdate, the Civil Registration will give him/her the name recorded upon medical records, and the mother’s last name. If your baby is born during the weekend (Saturday afternoon hours or Sunday) you may register him/her the following Monday.
