- Standard private room (3 days, 2 nights).
- Operations room (up to an hour and a half).

Baby
- Closed and transitional incubator (up to 6 hours).
- Special bacinete with anti-reflux system (2 nights, 3 days).

- Neonatal Metabolic Screening (7 tests).
Cesarean Delivery

How Much Does a Maternity Service Cost in Panama?
The cost of the service varies depending on the type of birth (natural or cesarean), the type of room chosen, and your health insurance coverage. We offer a free valuation where we assess your specific situation and provide you with a transparent quote.

Resolving Your Doubts
What should the baby bring to the hospital?
- Hats, gloves and socks.
- Special disposable diapers for newborns.
- Anti-diaper cream.
- Hypoallergenic earrings (if your baby is a girl and you want us to put them on).
- Set of clothes for the day of departure, with warm blankets.
We recommend that you have your suitcase ready 2 to 3 weeks before your due date.
What should the mother bring to the hospital?
- Three pajamas or gowns with front opening for breastfeeding.
- Absorbent protectors and nursing bras.
- Lanolin cream (for sensitive nipples).
- Comfortable underwear (can be disposable).
- Sanitary napkins for heavy flow.
- Thick socks.
- Change of clothes to leave the hospital.
Upon entry you will receive a welcome kit with personal hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner and slippers).
Can I register the birth of my baby in the hospital?
Yes. At The Panama Clinic we offer you the Birth Registration service during the days of stay. The process is carried out online, through the Birth Registration System of the Electoral Tribunal.
You just have to bring:
- Identity cards of both parents (Panamanians) or passport, migration card or consular certificate (foreigners).
- Two Panamanian witnesses, of legal age, not related by blood to their parents.
Important: If your baby is born during the weekend (Saturday afternoon or Sunday), you can register on Monday.
What are the pre-admission requirements?
To expedite your entry, send us the following documentation in advance:
- Insurance pre-authorization.
- Medical order.
- Pregnancy control card.
- Identity card.
- Private health insurance card.
- Last lab or medical test.
- Sign insurance forms.
- Sign a hospital-patient agreement.
What does it mean to be in maternity?
Being in maternity refers to the phase in which you go through pregnancy and the puerperium, involving specific responsibilities and care for you and your baby.
How long is motherhood?
Maternity includes the period of pregnancy, which lasts around 40 weeks, followed by recovery after childbirth, where we continue to provide you with ongoing support.
